When I first founded Vandalia Softworks, the mission was straightforward: build and support interactive experiences based on client requirements, along with tackling the challenging software problems that make ambitious ideas a reality.
Like many independent software and game studios, our work over the years has been a mix of public releases, technical consulting, and internal development:
-
Public Publishing (Perspectrum): Launching Perspectrum onto commercial storefronts was an invaluable milestone. Supporting an original game through the full development cycle—handling publishing timelines, platform and store requirements, QA, and public deployment—gave us hands-on experience navigating the complete commercial release ecosystem.
-
Technical Consulting & Software Architecture: Beyond public titles, the majority of my focus has been dedicated to private technical consulting, software architecture, and custom development across several client projects. Taking on targeted engineering work allowed us to refine our toolsets, solve complex technical challenges, and maintain a sustainable, agile business model.
-
Modernizing the Pipeline: Over the past few years, the technology has evolved dramatically. Working through demanding client requirements and gaining broader engineering experience provided a lot of practical lessons in performance, modular design, and tooling. I’ve used that foundation to modernize our internal pipeline and workflows.
What I’m Working on Now
Today, I’m channeling those years of technical problem-solving back into indie game development.
Currently, I have a smaller, solo 3D project in active production built in Unreal Engine 5. It’s been fun to work on a project I’m excited about and see the potential in.
Development is progressing well, and I’ll be sharing occasional devlogs and work-in-progress screenshots here as the project comes together.
Thank you to everyone who has followed and supported Vandalia Softworks over the years. I look forward to sharing more updates soon.
